Alright, so in your DAW there are synthesizers. In which you usually have a list of pre-made sounds available to you, that came as stock sounds with the synthesizer itself. With alot of synthesizers you can actually go to the settings and add custom pre-made sounds from others. These are the pre-sets. And you also have preset banks. With preset banks someone usually has a set of pre-sets that are in the same genre or category.

Basically, presets are settings for synths (mostly) that are used to make sounds and save time instead of creating your own ones. Sometimes are cool, but it make it "less original". You can import a preset in a plugin if the preset was made EXCLUSIVELY for that plugin.
